best bake forward

Well I have been rushed off my feet recently with lots of cakes (which is good, I mustn’t complain!).
I’ve had a rush on men’s and boys’ cakes over the last few weeks, very odd as most of my cakes up to now have all been for girls / women!
Any way I’ve had 2 orders for treasure chest cakes (they must be in vogue at the moment!) a Liverpool FC cake and a little boys christening cake based on the very talented Italian cake maker/ designer Antoniella Di Maria’s design, not something I would usually do, but I like to try new things!
I have also had a request for a classic motorbike cake, which I’m really looking forward to. It should be a challenge trying to get cake to look like metal!! II have started to research the cake and there are so many styles in which this type of cake can be done, however the method I’m going for is an 11’ carved cake on a scenic cake board. I should have a chance to play with my air brush tools too :-)
As you may or may not know this year I’m trying to build my business so have teamed up with a few different companies (Pharaohs play centre in Adlington and Finesse Photography in Bolton). Now I’ve found a lovely little local business that’s just starting up, which is producing favours ‘bombonieres’ for weddings, christenings and other events. So hopefully so we will be able to offer a very special wedding and christening package that will obviously include your cake but also for favours very soon.
I have also been advertising the local press! Check me out I’m in the newspaperJ. Things are going great. I am also down for doing a few local fetes this summer (the 1St one is in Westhoughton’s Central Park on 15/6/13). We will be selling cupcakes and cake pops/balls this year.
