I've decided to take the plunge and start doing wedding fairs!! So let's get
those dummies decorated!! 1 down 3 or 4 more to do before September. It's quite
a daunting task being pitted up against other local cake makes. Each hoping that
there wears will entice potential customers to them over there competitors. I've
now started to scour wedding articles and trends to see what in vogue for this
autumn and next year. Also there is the decision of presentation, do I go for
clean an crisp or shabby chic? Oh the decisions!
The current trend is for
all these bright colour and contrasting colour like green and purple?? Not sure
how many of Bolton's potential brides are going for these very bold and none
traditional colours on there wedding cakes? Do I take a risk or do I stick with
more traditional colours and styles? Might have to do a Facebook poll to see
what people really think and want.
Also I've put my name down for an ABC
accredited course in sugarcraft. Hoping to hone my royal icing techniques. Most
people prefer icing/ fondant covered cakes to the traditional Royal Iced cakes.
As a consequence I don't get to practice this side of cake decoration that much.
I really hope I can get on this highly sort after course. I should find out at
the end of August. (Fingers crossed)
I've finally designed a unique and
specific logo that I've now sent off to a lovely little company to help bring my
ideas to fruition. Ooh I can't wait to see the final product. :)
Ah well
best get back to doing some real work and begin my referring between my 2
delightful children (lol!)
